Oracle Fusion Applications (OFA)

Oracle Fusion Applications (OFA)

OFA are a portfolio of software products including Financials, Human capital management, Customer relationship management, Supply chain management, Procurement, Governance, and Project portfolio management. The software suite was developed by Oracle Corporation. Oracle Fusion Applications were first announced shortly after Oracle's acquisition of Peoplesoft, JD Edwards, and Siebel Systems in 2005 and finally released in September, 2010.

Oracle Fusion Applications were envisioned and pitched as a killer Enterprise resource planning suite: a combination of the best features and functionalities taken from Oracle E-Business Suite, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft and Siebel product lines. Oracle's master plan is to build a complete suite of standards-based applications for both large and small companies.

Oracle Fusion Applications also leverage the Service-oriented architecture capabilities of the underlying Oracle Fusion Middleware product. Fusion Applications will likely also contain aspects of Enterprise social software.

In addition to moving to the latest technology stack including SOA, BPEL, BAM, JSF, Ajax, ESB etc, the new product suite will also attempt to bring together the best in class underpinnings, of each of the incumbent suites, like Business Structure, Security Model, Workflow Process, Event Models.

With the birth of Fusion Applications, Oracle promises to continue to innovate the functions in its E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, and Siebel products while leaving the technology side of these products untouched.
